Azurite is a Copper Carbonate Hydroxide mineral. Specimens are palm around 2 x 1.5 inches. Azurite has been used as a blue pigment for centuries and is recognized as the major source of the blues used by medieval painters. It pseudo-morphs into Malachite and there are several fine examples here. All sizes in the descriptions are approximate. Some specimens have malachite inclusions. Specimen may vary in size, color and shape.
