This is a three dimensional ammonite, nicely sculpted and raised above the rock matrix of which they were carved from. The fossil is polished with added dimple marks on the matrix to complete its beautiful detail. Devonian age, North Africa. Large bold chambers define this specimen. More oval shaped than the picture indicates, 3 x 2.5 inches. Slight chip out on the edge of the rock matrix. Includes a VR01 stand
