Fossils: Petrified
ChromiumWood
This wood has been minerally replaced with Chromium which gives it a naturally green
color. It came from only one 14 foot section of petrified wood ever found! I'm
told there have since been a few other finds of small limb sections, none the less,
this is very rare wood! There is an interesting phenomena that occurs with this
wood. When it is dry it becomes a very light or pale green and when it is humid it
turns a deep minty green color. You might say this wood is a
natural Hygrometer!
