Fulgurites
Fulgurites are one of the oddest examples of
Nature at work. These thin quartz silicate tubes are formed
in a fraction of a second as lightning strikes the ground. Thousands of
degrees of heat melt sand into these bizarre tubular shapes. While the
outside is rough, the inside of the
tube is smooth and glassy from the bore of the lightning into the earth. These
specimens were
collected in
what is called the "Lightning Capitol of the World". Polk County Florida where
more lightning strikes are recorded per year than any other place on Earth!
You will
posses a relic of Thor when you own a Fulgurite!
Just two left. They look very similar to the two pictured below.
Please inquire for pictures. $30.00 each.
